Deadline: 31-Aug-2025
The World Food Programme (WFP) is inviting proposals for its General Food Assistance Programme in Bhasan Char to help improve the nutrition and food security of Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh. The program falls under WFP’s Strategic Outcome One and aims to address urgent food needs while promoting food choice and accessibility.
The core objectives include providing every Rohingya refugee with a value voucher to meet a daily intake of 2,100 kilocalories, enabling them to choose preferred food items, ensuring consistent food access during emergencies, and offering access to fresh vegetables, poultry, and fish.
The focus sectors for the program include camp coordination and management, coordination and partnerships, food security, food assistance, agricultural inputs, and market or vulnerability analysis.
Geographically, the initiative targets Chittagong, Bangladesh, specifically Bhasan Char and the Cox’s Bazar camps. The program supports several long-term strategic outcomes. These include helping crisis-affected populations meet basic needs, improving nutrition for vulnerable groups, enhancing disaster resilience, and strengthening coordination and support services during crises.
Eligible applicants must be NGOs or INGOs registered with Bangladesh’s NGO Affairs Bureau and authorized to operate in Bhasan Char and Cox’s Bazar. They must demonstrate experience in food security, cash-based interventions, and market linkages, preferably in collaboration with WFP or other UN agencies. Experience in the target locations is essential.
Applicants must also show a credible mandate in relevant areas, appropriate staffing, grassroots community engagement, adequate infrastructure, and a solid understanding of technical requirements and data systems.
