The World Food Programme (WFP) has announced a call for expressions of interest for the 2026 SANAD Emergency Crises Response Safety Nets Project in Kassala, Sudan.
The project focuses on food security and cash assistance, aiming to ensure that all targeted beneficiaries safely receive full cash-based transfers for 12 months while strengthening resilience and local systems for sustained safety nets.
This initiative is designed to provide timely and effective support to vulnerable populations in Kassala who are affected by food insecurity and economic challenges. Through cash-based interventions, the program empowers individuals and families to meet their essential needs while supporting local market activity and promoting dignity in assistance delivery.
By prioritizing resilience building and sustainable safety net systems, the project contributes to long-term stability within the region, reducing dependence on emergency aid and enhancing community preparedness for future crises. The indicative budget for this initiative will guide resource allocation to ensure maximum impact and accountability in achieving these goals.
