Deadline: 15-Sep-2025
The Nordic Culture Point is inviting Ukrainian artists/other professionals within arts and culture for a residency.
The purpose of this funding is to provide a safe and secure space for Ukrainian artists to explore their fields, promote their professional networks, and facilitate dialogue with people in the Nordic and Baltic countries. Additional Round of Funding to Support Ukrainian Artists and Cultural Creators (Norway).
The funding is available for all areas of art and culture. The program’s objectives are to provide a safe and secure space for Ukrainian artists, explore their fields, promote their professional networks, and facilitate dialogue with people in the Nordic and Baltic countries.
This initiative is part of the residency funding module of the Nordic-Baltic Mobility Programme and is aimed at residency centers in the Nordic and Baltic countries. These centers can apply for funding to invite Ukrainian artists and cultural creators for a residency, covering all their costs as well as those of any accompanying family members.
The maximum funding for a residency center is EUR 50,000, which should cover costs related to the artist’s stay, including travel, subsistence, and remuneration. A maximum of 15% of the budget can be allocated for administrative expenses.
Professional artists with documented experience or training in their field are eligible. The program recommends residencies of approximately 2-4 months, although there is no strict limit. Funding can be applied for by existing residency centers, organizations, or institutions that have at least one year of documented experience in organizing residencies. Residency centres applying for funding must be located in the Nordic Region (Denmark, Finland, the Faroe Islands, Greenland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Åland) or the Baltic countries (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania). Individual applicants are not eligible.
As long as the application meets the above requirements, the residency centre itself can select the artists based on its own guidelines. You can invite both individual artists and small groups. Artists can be selected through an open call following the grant decision, or you can apply for funding for the artists that have already been selected.
Applications are assessed based on the center’s existing regional and international work, its capacity to support artists and foster networks, and its guidelines for social, economic, and ecological sustainability. The application period for this special initiative is from August 15, 2025, to September 15, 2025.
