Deadline: 05-Jan-2026
The International Latino Cultural Center of Chicago is inviting artists worldwide to enter the 42nd Chicago Latino Film Festival Poster Contest, offering the chance for one original artwork to become the festival’s official visual identity.
The focus of the contest is to reflect the Festival’s core mission of presenting and celebrating Iberoamerica’s diverse cultures through film. The design must include the text “42nd Chicago Latino Film Festival April 16-27, 2026” and embody the theme “Latino Stories for Movie Lovers.” The artwork should not highlight any single country or specific cultural artifact, must avoid stereotypes or overt symbolism, and cannot be generated using AI.
The winning poster will become the official visual identity of the Festival, appearing on materials such as programs, invitations, digital ads, and merchandise. The selected artist will receive a prize of US $1,000. Each participant or team may submit up to three entries, and there is no submission fee. Artists must hold full copyright to their work and grant the Festival unrestricted rights to use or display it in any format.
This contest offers artists an opportunity to share their creativity with an international audience while contributing to the visual representation of one of the most celebrated Latino film festivals. The anonymous selection process ensures fairness and highlights the originality of each design in shaping the identity of the 2026 Festival.
