The second thematic competition under the Active Citizens Program – Regional Fund was launched.
Program Operator Active Citizens – Regional Fund, i.e. a consortium of organizations composed of: Fundacja Rozwoju Demokracji Lokalnej im. Jerzy Regulski (leader), the Education for Democracy Foundation and the Information Society Development Foundation, invite applications in the second grant competition for thematic projects. The Active Citizens – Regional Fund program is financed by Iceland, Norway and Liechtenstein under the EEA and Norway Grants.
Funding Information
The amount allocated to grants in the second thematic competition is EUR 8,019,256 (including EEA Grants: EUR 7,309,256 and Norwegian Funds: EUR 710,000). Broken down into individual areas of support, it is:
- Area 1. Protection of human rights (including gender equality issues) – amount: EUR 1,805,281 (of which EEA Funds: EUR 1,805,281),
- Area 2. Action for social diversity and counteracting exclusion – amount: EUR 1,961,565 (of which EEA Grants: EUR 1,661,565 and Norwegian Funds: EUR 300,000),
- Area 3. Building a democratic culture and civic involvement at the local level (including issues related to environmental protection) – amount: EUR 2,887,580 (of which EEA Grants: EUR 2,477,580 and Norwegian Funds: EUR 410,000),
- Area 4. Support for the development of the social sector (implemented as a module in projects from areas 1-3) – amount: EUR 1,364,830 (of which EEA funds: EUR 1,364,830.
Eligible Countries
The following entities can be Partners to a project:
- non-governmental organisations, public and private entities, non-profit and for-profit entities (excluding self-employed sole traders) based in:
- Poland,
- other Beneficiary States eligible for EEA and Norway Grants (Bulgaria, Cyprus, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia, Malta, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia),
- Donor States (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway),
- neighbouring states, i.e. non-EEA countries neighbouring on Poland (Belarus, Russian Federation, Ukraine).
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants, i.e. entities that can submit applications on their own or as leaders of grant applicant partnerships, may be:
- associations, foundations and unions of associations;
- social cooperatives;
- non-profit companies;
- rural housewives’ clubs;
- Church legal persons, provided that their statutory objectives include public benefit activities, are registered in the National Court Register, have the option of incurring liabilities on their own.
