Deadline: 30-Sep-2025
The Collaborative Project Grants support partnerships between two or more organisations to produce original and innovative research in the field of British art and architecture.
The aim is to foster collaboration and create opportunities for dialogue between parties that might not otherwise work together. Projects may lead to outcomes such as workshops, conferences, publications, exhibitions, digital projects, or joint research proposals to major funding bodies.
Grants are available for up to £40,000, with one organisation acting as the administrative lead to receive the full amount as a lump sum. Funding can be used for research, travel, accommodation, meetings, and scholarly gatherings such as seminars or conferences. It cannot cover staff costs, equipment, or practical costs related to publication or exhibition production.
The programme supports research, education, and the dissemination of knowledge in British art and architectural history, from the medieval period to the present, across a wide range of cultural and geographical contexts. It includes art made in Britain or by British artists, as well as topics related to Britain’s artistic and cultural histories, but excludes field archaeology, current architectural practice, and the performing arts.
Applications involving photography, performance, film, or digital media must show relevance to British art studies. The grant is open to organisations internationally as well as in the UK, but individuals cannot apply.
