Deadline: 02-Sep-2025
Creative Australia is inviting applications for its Arts Projects grants, which support a wide range of activities that benefit both the arts sector and the broader public. These benefits can extend to national and international audiences and communities.
Grants are available from $10,000 to $50,000, and supported projects must be completed within two years of the proposed start date. Activities eligible for funding include professional skills development, mentoring, residencies, new work creation, practice-based research, creative development, experimentation, collaborations, exchanges, touring, festivals, exhibitions, performances, productions, publishing, recording, promotion, marketing, and market development. Projects that creatively engage communities are also eligible.
Projects that do not involve or benefit Australian practicing artists or arts professionals, lack a clearly defined arts component, have already occurred, are being submitted to the International Engagement Fund, or involve First Nations content without adhering to relevant protocols, are not eligible.
Applicants must be individuals or groups who are Australian citizens or permanent residents and practicing artists or arts professionals. Each applicant can only submit one application per closing date. Applications involving First Nations content must come from First Nations individuals or groups.
Applicants cannot apply if they have already submitted an application for the same round, are applying to the International Engagement Fund for the same project, have an overdue grant report, owe money to Creative Australia, or are an organization.
Applications will be assessed based on three main criteria. The first is quality, which includes the vision and artistic rationale, innovation, significance, career impact, and responses from peers or the public. The second is viability, which considers the applicant’s capacity to deliver, planning, appropriate payments, safety, and involvement of skilled collaborators. The third is alignment with the goal of engaging Australian audiences and communities through new work, cultural connection, accessible experiences, and increased participation across diverse and regional groups.
