The Arts Centre is seeking applications for its Matariki Exhibition 2023.
Te Matatiki Toi Ora the Arts Centre is a hub for diverse creative expression in the heart of Ōtautahi Christchurch.
Over two-thirds of The Arts Centre Te Matatiki Toi Ora site has now been rebuilt, strengthened and restored after the devastating earthquakes of 2010-11. They care for the heritage buildings as a place where creative endeavour and entrepreneurship can thrive.
Te Matatiki Toi Ora The Arts Centre is calling for expressions of interest from emerging and early-career Māori visual artists, to showcase mahi toi in a group exhibition. This will run two weeks over Matariki 2023 in conjunction with Te Matatiki Toi Ora Matariki Festival, from the 3 July to the 16 July.
Artists Will Receive The Opportunity Of:
- Exhibiting in a group show
- A commission of 80% on the sale of work
- Opportunity to present an artist talk
The Art of Living Will Provide
- The venue for the exhibition
- Support with install and deinstall of work
- An opening event
- Staffing throughout the exhibition
- Cost of transporting works to and from the exhibition.
