Deadline: 01-Sep-2025
Are you a local performer, musician, artist, or creative with a project you’d like to bring to life in the Māngere-Ōtāhuhu area? Applications are now open for the Māngere-Ōtāhuhu Arts Initiative, which supports community-led creative activities.
This initiative, run by the Māngere-Ōtāhuhu Local Board, includes an Arts Broker whose role is to identify, support, and curate local creative projects. The aim is to encourage and enable diverse artistic expressions across the community.
The Arts Broker works directly with local creatives, offering support in areas such as funding, marketing, project development, and connecting with the right people or venues. They are open to all types of creative ideas—even those still in the concept stage. Projects can include anything from dance and film to visual arts, kapa-haka, digital media, spoken word, publications, performances, or exhibitions.
Support is offered to projects that meaningfully involve the community, are led by local people, and have a strong creative foundation. Whether you need help refining your idea or assistance with logistics, the Arts Broker is there to guide you.
This year, applications must be submitted through a Google Form. Applicants will need to provide a description of their idea, background information about themselves or their organization, details about collaborators, contact information, and confirmation that they are based in the Māngere-Ōtāhuhu area. If funding is required, applicants must specify the amount needed and what it will be used for.
