Deadline: 08-Sep-2025
The City of Greater Geelong is inviting applications for its Creative Seed Grants, aimed at supporting artists and creatives to initiate, explore, or activate fresh ideas and innovative approaches to their work. These grants are designed to inspire innovation, encourage new thinking, and help early-stage concepts with strong potential to grow and make a meaningful impact.
Applicants can request up to $2,500, with a total pool of $25,000 available. Projects must take place within the City of Greater Geelong’s boundaries and may include creative tech mashups, community co-designed projects, temporary pop-ups, artist residencies, immersive storytelling experiences, testing of new artistic ideas, peer learning hubs, short film prototypes, multimedia projects, reuse-focused initiatives, creative start-ups, new business models, and inventive ways to present local stories and data.
Funding can cover costs such as venue or studio hire, contractor fees, artist payments, materials, equipment, inclusion and access expenses, documentation, marketing, promotion, and software licenses. The grant is open to those working primarily in the arts, creative, and cultural sectors, including residents or operators within Geelong, incorporated not-for-profits, unincorporated groups with an auspice, registered charities, businesses, and sole traders with an active ABN.
Schools, individuals without an ABN, previous applicants with outstanding grant acquittals, those who have not complied with past funding agreements, and entities facing insolvency, bankruptcy, or legal proceedings with the City are not eligible to apply.
