Deadline: 28-Jul-2025
The Spruill Gallery is now accepting submissions for its annual AMPLIFY mural competition. This opportunity is open to individual artists or art teams currently residing in the United States and is designed to support creative talent through public art.
The winning submission will receive a $10,000 award, which includes up to a $1,000 stipend for materials needed during the mural installation. As part of the prize, the selected artist will also become Dunwoody’s Artist-in-Residence, receiving accommodation at the nearby Residence Inn Hotel during installation dates.
The Gallery will host an Artist’s Talk in celebration of the completed work. This event will engage the community, including Spruill Center for the Arts staff, students, board members, Dunwoody city officials, and the general public, scheduled at a mutually convenient time during the 11-month exhibition period.
Eligible applicants must be at least 18 years old and currently living in the United States. All submissions will be added to a City of Dunwoody database for future public art project consideration, both municipal and commercial.
To apply, artists must submit a letter of intent (maximum 250 words) outlining past work, the proposed project theme, and design. Sketches of the proposed mural are required. Applicants should also submit up to 10 digital images of past projects with descriptions of media, technique, and scale, along with an annotated image key.
A brief artist bio (no more than 500 words) must be included, detailing place of residence, education, exhibitions, and public art history. All application materials must be submitted digitally in JPEG format (no larger than 8″ x 10″ at 300 DPI), with individual emails not exceeding 10 MB.
Submissions must be completed via the provided link by the stated deadline, and a confirmation email should be sent to the gallery. Early submissions are encouraged, and late entries will not be accepted.
