Entries are now open for the Comic Creation Grant Programme to support the development of a comic project intended for publication (including digital formats).
Pro Helvetia promotes the professional contemporary Swiss art and cultural production (without film) with a view to diversity as well as national and international reach.
It supports the creation of new artistic works and productions, the exchange between Switzerland’s various linguistic regions, the dissemination of Swiss art and culture outside Switzerland and international cultural exchange.
Funding Information
- Grant amount: maximum grant of CHF 25,000.
Eligibility Criteria
- Comic creators must have published at least one independent work with a publishing house that has professional structures or equivalence in magazines.
- To be eligible for support, projects must:
- have a clear connection to Switzerland
- be of nationwide importance
- be adequately co-funded by other public or private means
- respects/guarantee fair working conditions.
Ineligibility Criteria
- The project must be completed no earlier than nine months and no later than three years after the application deadline
- Recipients of creation grants may only reapply for a creation grant after the project has been completed
- Rejected projects may not be resubmitted.
Selection Criteria
- Artistically independent, methodological approach and content-related relevance
- Impressive artistic form for the project and impact objective
- Coherent implementation concept and feasibility.
Application Requirements
- Details of the individuals involved in the project
- Synopsis, sketches and research material
- Ten pages, including at least four finished pages
- CV incl. list of publications and/or exhibitions
- Excerpts from previous projects.
