Applications are now open for the GFX Challenge Grant Program to support aspiring creatives bring their imaging projects to life.
Focus: It awards 5 Global Grant Award and 10 Regional Grant Award to help aspiring creatives bring their imaging projects to life. It is designed to nurture and develop the skills of emerging/promising content creators, giving them the opportunity to create content on topics that have significant meaning to them, while gaining experience using FUJIFILM GFX System gear.
The GFX Challenge Grant Program 2025 invites individuals to submit imaging project proposals in either still photography or movie format, offering a meaningful opportunity to create content that matters to them using the advanced Fujifilm GFX System equipment. Applicants may be amateur or professional photographers and videographers who reside in the eligible countries or regions, excluding employees or officers of Fujifilm and its subsidiaries. The application period runs from June 30 to August 31, 2025.
Successful proposals can receive either a Global Grant Award or a Regional Grant Award. The Global Grant Award includes a US $10,000 cash grant, complimentary use of a GFX System camera body and two GF lenses during the project, and mentoring and technical assistance from Fujifilm technicians and product experts. The Regional Grant Award offers similar benefits, with a US $5,000 cash grant instead.
The selection process unfolds in three rounds. After the submission period, Fujifilm reviews entries and selects 45 regional finalists (15 per geographic region) in the first round, occurring between September 1 and September 19, 2025. These finalists are notified by September 26 and participate in interviews during the second round from September 29 to October 17, 2025. The final round runs from October 20 to November 10, 2025, with winners announced in January 2026. The 5 Global Grant Award recipients and 10 Regional Grant Award recipients are selected at this stage.
Selection criteria include the relevance of the project to the program objectives and the applicant’s adherence to the submission criteria, the appropriateness of the project story to be told using GFX System products, the creativity and uniqueness of the described project, the achievability and execution feasibility of the project including the overall budget size and likelihood of completion as outlined, and the applicant’s background along with their photography or videography experience and abilities.
Awardees must complete their shooting project and submit the final images and/or video to Fujifilm by May 31, 2026. The completed works will be showcased on the fujifilm-x.com website and via exhibitions in various countries.
