The Tokyo Metropolitan Foundation for History and Culture, Arts Council Tokyo, has announced the second term of the Grant Program for Creating Attractive Arts and Culture for Fiscal Year 2025 to support artistic and cultural projects that enhance Tokyo’s appeal as a global cultural city.
The focus is to develop the arts and culture of Japan, foster human resources who can support diverse artistic and cultural activities, promote international artistic and cultural exchange, promote the creation and dissemination of art and culture, carry out a variety of projects to enhance the appeal of Tokyo, develop a new foundation for the creation of arts and culture, and pursue Tokyo’s uniqueness and diversity.
This program subsidizes part of the expenses for technical and creative activities, including festivals of various genres, collaborative art projects, and art events involving multiple groups and participants. The grant aims to create innovative projects that have the power to spread and sustain information, while offering many Tokyo residents opportunities to experience art and culture.
Projects sponsored or co-sponsored by multiple organizations are eligible, with support provided for up to half of the implementation costs, capped at 20 million yen. Additionally, digital development support fees (up to 3 million yen) and creative environment support fees (up to 200,000 yen) may be applied for alongside the grant. Eligible projects include those in music, theater, dance, fine arts, photography, literature, media arts, traditional performing arts, lifestyle and culture, fashion, architecture, and multi-disciplinary artistic activities.
