The Mayo County Council is accepting nominations for its Mayo Artist Bursary Award to support the work of professional artists, working in any artform, at all stages of their career, currently resident in Mayo.
Funding Information
Awards will range from €150 to €1000.
What yopu can apply for?

Eligible costs:
- Costs related to the making/presentation of new work including
- Arts Material costs – max award €300
- exhibition costs (in dedicated publicly funded arts spaces) – max award €300
- filming costs
- mentoring costs
- research costs
- publishing costs (by an independent recognoised publisher)
- recording costs

Ineligible costs:

The following costs are not eligible for support
- Assistance for ongoing revenue costs e.g. memberships, utilities, studio rental etc
- Assistance to cover loans / deficits
- Assistance with capital costs & purchase of capital items including equipment
- Activities for charity or fund-raising purposes
- Participation in a competitions/trade stands etc
- Assistance in respect of commercial activities
- Assistance with Education/training costs including short-term courses
- Assistance towards fees or costs for undergraduate or postgraduate courses of study (including unaccredited/higher education etc)
- Assistance towards work undertaken as part of a formal course of study
- Assistance towards the costs of undertaking an internship
- Activity not relating to 2023
- Activity already supported by Mayo County Council Arts Service through another scheme e.g. Tyrone Guthrie Bursary Award, Drama League of Ireland Summer School Bursary Award, Culture Night Events, Arts Act Grants, UPSTART Arts & Disability Funding Scheme etc.

Eligibility Criteria
- Artists working in any discipline Music, theatre, literature, visual arts, film, dance and performance art etc are eligible to apply.
- The Bursary award is a competitive process and funding in previous rounds of the award is not a guarantee of funding in the current year.
- Mayo County Council particularly welcomes new applicants who represent the diversity of Irish society. They encourage applications from all areas of the community regardless of your gender, sexual orientation, civil or family status, religion, age, disability, race or membership of the Traveller Community, or socio-economic background.
- The Bursary Award is not open to community groups or organisations.
