In collaboration with Metroland Cultures and Te Tuhi, and with generous support from Kent Gardner, Delfina Foundation welcomes applications from curators from/based in New Zealand for a twelve-week residency in London, taking place from 3 April to 23 June 2023.
The fully funded residency is geared towards emerging/mid-career curators to gain training, skills, and experience through being embedded in the curatorial workings of Metroland Cultures for 3 days per week, in addition to having the time and space to pursue their own research during the remaining days each week.
The selected applicant will receive?
- A twelve-week residency at Delfina Foundation, including:
- A return economy-class flight
- Airport transfers
- Reimbursement of visa fee
- A living allowance of £30 per day
- A materials budget of up to £600
- Local travel pass
- A single bedroom with a desk at Delfina Foundation – a house which hosts up to 8 residents with shared facilities, including: bathrooms, laundry rooms, a kitchen, library and dining room.
- Opportunities to engage in the art scene in UK through structured activities and independent time
- Access to a programme of planned group activities
Please note: Dedicated studio space is not offered as part of the residency facilities.
Eligibility Criteria
- A resident or citizen of Aotearoa New Zealand
- Seeking an opportunity to develop their practice through research
- Able to explain how the experience of an international residency in London and working with Metroland Cultures, may benefit their career development and local networks
- Proficient in English Additionally, the selected practitioner will need to obtain travel insurance to cover medical emergencies, theft and other accidents.
