Deadline: 11-Aug-2025
The PPL Momentum Accelerator Tees Valley, in partnership with PRS Foundation, has launched its PPL Momentum Accelerator Programme to support songwriters, artists, bands, and performers creating their own music. The program is open to those based in Yorkshire, Liverpool City Region, Wales, and Tees Valley, as well as industry professionals from Liverpool City Region, Wales, and Tees Valley.
The programme aims to provide timely financial support to help talented music creators outside London reach or move beyond early career tipping points. It also seeks to make artists and bands more investment-ready for future opportunities and reduce the need to relocate by strengthening regional music infrastructure.
Other goals include increasing access to industry platforms like live events, radio, and digital streaming, while offering advice to help music creators build audiences, generate income, and sustain careers. It also focuses on supporting diverse talent and encouraging sustainable regional music scenes where income benefits the local community.
Grants of up to £5,000 are available for artists and bands. Funding can be used for activities such as recording and releasing music, touring, live performance, online content, promotion, marketing, creating new music, paying collaborators, education, training, commissioning, and equipment (up to 20% of the budget). Projects can include a combination of these elements.
Certain costs are not eligible for funding. These include vehicle purchases, international touring, support for artist rosters (each application must focus on one artist), projects already covered by label or management deals, building work, studio construction, salaries, and living expenses.
Eligible artists or bands must show strong potential but face challenges in reaching key career milestones. They should already be progressing within their region and have a realistic plan to achieve national visibility within six months. All funded activity must take place in the UK.
Industry professionals must have a developing track record supporting music creators in Liverpool City Region, Tees Valley, or Wales, and show clear need for funding or support to overcome career barriers. Applicants must present a plan for how the Accelerator will help them move forward.
Those not based in the Accelerator regions, those just starting out in music or the industry, or anyone previously funded by the PPL Momentum Fund, Hitmaker Fund, or Composers’ Fund, are not eligible to apply for this programme.
