Pro Helvetia has launched a call for applications for residencies aimed at cultural practitioners from Switzerland (e.g. artists, curators, cultural intermediaries) and cultural practitioners from Southern, East or West/Central Africa.
The residencies last for three months at most. Pro Helvetia provides accommodation, daily allowances, professional supervision, travel expenses, a contribution towards production and material costs (on request) and a workplace (on request).

Applications are possible in the following disciplines:
- Visual Arts;
- Music;
- Literature;
- Theatre;
- Dance;
- Interdisciplinary Projects;
- Residencies.
Eligibility Criteria
- Cultural practitioners from Switzerland may apply for residencies in Southern, West/Central or East Africa, while cultural practitioners from Southern, West/Central or East Africa can apply for residencies in Switzerland.
- The following are eligible: artists and cultural practitioners in the fields of visual arts, design and interactive media, music, literature and performing arts, as well as arts practitioners with a transdisciplinary focus.
Selection Criteria
- Convincing track record: professional activity with a national / transregional reach;
- Context-related motivation;
- Sufficient knowledge of the respective foreign language(s);
- Concrete exchange project with a lasting impact.
