The National Arts Council is inviting applications for its Presentation and Participation Grant to present quality arts activities and works that express and enrich their artistic diversity, as well as increase arts appreciation and participation in Singapore.
The grant supports a range of project types, including performances, exhibitions, artform publications, music Extended Plays (EPs) and Albums, process-driven or co-creative projects with the public, and conferences or festivals. These projects can be delivered in physical, digital, or combined formats. The amount of funding is determined by the artistic strength of the project, its reach and public engagement, the applicant’s ability to execute it, and the realism of the budget.
The grant is open to individuals who are Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents, with priority given to self-employed persons. Organisations registered with ACRA or a society with the Registry of Societies are also eligible. Informal groups or collectives where the majority of members are Singapore Citizens or PR can apply, as can foreign publishers who wish to publish or translate Singaporean-authored literary works. Projects involving collaborations with foreigners are eligible if the lead applicant and at least half the artistic team or cast are Singaporean or PR.
Applications will not be supported if the applicant is a group constituted for non-secular purposes, a Major Company, or a Company Limited by Guarantee receiving MCCY or NAC organisational funding. Projects that have already started, are presented by a Major Company, are primarily religious or for fundraising, are for academic purposes, are part of a school curriculum, or are not for public consumption are not eligible.
For most projects, individuals and non-profit organisations can receive up to 70% of a realistic budget, capped at $50,000 per financial year. For-profit organisations can receive up to 50% of a realistic budget, up to $50,000. Publishing projects have different caps, with all eligible applicants able to receive up to 50% of a budget, up to $100,000 per financial year. For music EPs and Albums, there are different tiers and percentages based on the applicant’s history and profit status, with funding reaching up to $50,000 or a one-off payment of $10,000 for first projects.
For grants under $10,000, a Financial Report is required. For grants of $10,000 and above, a Certified Statement of Accounts from a registered accountant is necessary, and accounting fees can be included in the budget. All grant recipients must keep supporting documents for up to six months after submitting their final report.
