The Joburg City Theaters (JCT) is inviting submissions from organizations within the art sector that have existing, well-established programmes.
Eligible Ogranizatons must have a proven track record of delievring art, culture, and heritage programmes for a minimum of three years.
Funding Information
- Emerging artistic programmes
- Minimum : R20 000, 00
- Maximum: R250 000, 00
- Established artistic programmes
- Minimum: R250 000, 00
- Maximum: R500 000, 00
Selection Criteria
- Art and Culture programmes and or initiatives that will take place from August 2025 until June 2026.
- Programmes and initiatives that align with the mandates of Arts, Culture and Heritage Directorate.
- Programmes and initiatives along a broad range of creative discipines that propomote access to market platform and atraning and these include:
- The Ciy of Johannsburg and Joburg City Theaters reserves the right to select or decline any application based on the strength of the propopsals and the compliance application of the selection Criteria.
Application Requirements
- The selection criteria will be based on organizations that will meet the following requirements:
- Music: Developmental and performance related programme across all forms of music. Programes that give due consideration under-supported genres
- Dance: All forms of dance including traditional dance
- Poetry: Spoken word showcases and training initiatives
- Theatre: All forms of theatrical productions
- Film: Market Access workshops. Capacity Building, and Film Screenings. Film production is excluded
- Visual Art & Craft: Exhibitions, Market Access and Capacity Building Workshops
- Creative Industries Dialogues: Summits, and conferences
- Programmes and initiatives that can demonstrate that they are in a position to source or have secured additional funding for the programme to be a success will have an added advantage. Programmes that will impact performance or market platforms. skills development, job creation. and SMME development. particularly for designated groups such as women, youth, and people with disabilities.
