Deadline: 17-Oct-2025
The Heritage Crafts Association is inviting craft practitioners and organizations across the UK to apply for its Endangered Crafts Fund, designed to support projects that safeguard traditional crafts at risk of disappearing.
The focus is on crafts listed as endangered or critically endangered in the most recent Red List—critical cultural skills that need preservation to survive the next generation.
While a number of grants are reserved for creators in Essex, East Sussex, West Sussex, and Brighton and Hove, the opportunity remains open to applicants living outside these areas as well.
There are a number of routes to supporting craft skills, and applicants can apply for a grant for any amount up to £2,000. Funding may be used to develop innovative methods for passing on craft skills, modernize traditional practices with sustainable materials, or ensure the continuation of cultural authenticity. It can also cover apprenticeships, the creation of educational materials such as online tutorials, the acquisition of specialized tools, or investment in more efficient equipment.
The program further supports professional development to strengthen both business and craft capabilities. Beyond financial assistance, winners will receive dedicated mentorship and tailored guidance to help turn their project ideas into long-term success. Since 2019, nearly 80 grants have been awarded nationwide, demonstrating the program’s impact in nurturing living heritage and empowering communities across the UK.
