Deadline: 01-Aug-2025
Students from 9th grade through graduate school are invited to participate in an essay contest based on Ayn Rand’s novel Atlas Shrugged. This is an opportunity to gain recognition, enhance your college applications, and win scholarship prizes.
The contest offers awards of up to $25,000, with a total prize pool of $40,000. Prize categories include $3,000 for first place, $2,000 for second place, and $1,000 for third place in each seasonal round.
Participation is free, and submissions are evaluated on clarity of writing, logical organization, depth of understanding of the novel’s philosophical themes, and relevance to the assigned prompt.
To enter, students must submit an original, unpublished essay written in English. The essay must include proper page citations, fall within the required word count, and address all parts of the prompt. Only one submission is allowed per student per contest round. Contestants will receive grading updates and may be invited for interviews.
