Deadline: 01-Nov-2025
The NAF is currently inviting applications for funding exhibitions and performances that promote strong artistic and intellectual exchange between the United States and the Netherlands. Both emerging artists and established organizations are encouraged to apply. The goal is to support creative projects that reflect meaningful collaboration between Dutch and American participants.
Grants typically range from $1,500 to $5,000, though higher or lower amounts may be considered depending on the project’s scope. Applicants are encouraged to seek additional sources of funding to support their work.
To begin the process, applicants may submit a one-page Letter of Intent that includes a project overview, dates or timeline, participants involved, and an estimated grant amount. While not required, the letter helps determine whether the Cultural Committee will invite a full application. Receiving an invitation to apply does not guarantee funding.
Full applications must be submitted at least six months before funding is needed. Projects already underway or completed at the time of review will not be considered. Those who have recently received funding must wait three years before reapplying. All grantees must credit The Netherland-America Foundation in related publications and promotions using the NAF logo.
A full application must be in English and include a 1–2-page cover letter outlining the project, timeline, performance dates, participant background, and total grant request. A one-page budget should list expenses, identify other funding sources, and clarify what items NAF funds will cover. Amounts must be provided in US dollars.
Applicants may also include letters of support, contracts or agreements between artists and presenters, and relevant supporting materials like photos or videos.
Grant recipients are required to submit a final project report within three months of completing the funded project. This report must include video and photo content for NAF promotional use. Failure to submit the report will make future applications ineligible for consideration.
