Deadline: 01-Jul-2026
Camden Council is inviting applications for its Special Achievers Program, designed to support gifted and talented individuals living in the Camden Local Government Area. This program offers financial assistance to help cover the costs associated with participating in cultural, academic, or sporting events.
Applicants selected to represent New South Wales can apply for up to $750, while those representing Australia can apply for up to $1000. The amount granted is calculated as 10% of the total costs outlined in the application. For example, if the total cost is $5000, the applicant would receive $500. Applicants should note that processing times may take up to six weeks due to application volume and required approvals.
To be eligible, the event or activity must be amateur in nature and generally organized by a non-profit body. Applicants must have been selected on merit to represent NSW or Australia, and documentation of this selection process must be provided. The applicant must also be a resident of the Camden LGA. Grants are limited to one per person per Council term, which spans four years.
Applications can be submitted retrospectively, up to 12 months after the event. All applications must include evidence of costs, such as receipts or invoices. Submissions are reviewed by Council officers, with final approvals made by the Mayor and General Manager. Details of the financial support awarded are reported to the Council each year.
