Deadline: 19-Oct-2025
The Elephant Trust is requesting grant applications to develop and improve the knowledge, understanding and appreciation of the fine arts in the United Kingdom.
The Elephant Trust opens its doors each year to creative minds and artistic ventures, providing a rare chance for artists, small galleries, and charitable art institutions across the UK to bring fresh, imaginative projects to life.
This opportunity is particularly suited to those whose ideas have been stalled or sidelined by financial constraints. The Trust steps in where routine funding falls short, helping artists and presenters take bold, original steps and see their vision through to completion in meaningful ways.
Given The Elephant Trust’s modest resources, grants are usually between £2,000 and £5,000, but with the addition of the funding limit, projects with a total budget exceeding £30,000 will not be supported. These amounts are often enough to spark creativity and open doors. Whether it’s supporting a new piece of work, mounting an exhibition, or propelling a daring concept forward, funding is available to help get things moving.
Notably, the Trust embraces proposals that stand out by their inventiveness and may operate outside typical commercial or institutional frameworks. It seeks to support those whose work veers toward the unexpected—projects that surprise, provoke, explore, or imagine.
That said, there are things the Trust doesn’t support. Proposals tied to arts festivals, group exhibitions, residencies or research programs, educational studies, or projects happening outside the UK fall outside the scope. The focus remains firmly on the fine arts and on original projects that break the mold locally.
For artists or small arts organisations looking to push creative boundaries, the Elephant Trust offers more than just funds—it fosters daring and distinguishes ideas that might otherwise remain unseen.
