Deadline: 02-Oct-2025
The Theatre Society Legacy Fund – Arts Grant is open for applications to support arts projects and programs within the Tri-Cities region of Anmore, Belcarra, Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, and Port Moody.
The focus is to encourage and support the development, enhancement, innovation or mentorship of a diverse variety of inclusive arts in the Tri-Cities region. Arts is defined as a creative activity that expresses imaginative or technical skills. It produces a product or an object. The product/object of art is called a work of art, for others to experience. It includes digital media, drawing, painting, sculpting, photography, performance art, dance, music, poetry, prose, theatre and culinary arts.
The annual grant intake runs from August 21 to October 2, with up to $5,000 available per grant. Applications may be submitted online or through a live or recorded oral application. The program welcomes projects and programs that take place in the Tri-Cities region and may include participation of professional performing artists. Grants can be used to seed new community initiatives or to expand existing ones.
Eligible applicants must be registered charities or partner with a registered charity for the purpose of this grant. Priority consideration may be given to projects that include special needs groups and socially or ethnically marginalized populations.
The program does not fund organizations that discriminate by race, religion, color, creed, sex, age, or national origin, nor does it support religious or sectarian groups unless the project benefits the wider community. It also excludes individuals, debt retirement, endowment funds, annual fundraising campaigns, projects that have already taken place, and the promotion of commercial products.
All applications become the property of the PoCo Community Foundation, and applicants consent to allow the foundation to share information about their projects with staff, donors, media, and subject-matter experts.
