Nominations are now open for EDF Pulse Africa 2019 Awards with an aim to support African innovators, who are true actors in energy development.
In an often difficult context, a culture of innovation emerges on the continent and brings directly useful solutions to the Africans. EDF wants to give an impetus to this dynamic and to be part of the energy future in Africa and to participate in innovation internally on the continent through the EDF Pulse Africa Awards.
Focus Areas
For this edition, 3 Prizes and 1 crush will reward innovative solutions of African start-ups and SMEs applicable in the fields of:
- Off-grid electricity generation: any innovative solution for generating and/or storing electricity in off-grid areas
- Electrical services and uses: any service that extends electrification and any innovative product with low electricity consumption; reusable by users of electricity services
- Access to water: any innovative solution to improve access to water through electricity
Eligibility Criteria
The EDF Pulse Africa Awards concern applicant if:
- Applicants are a start-up or an African SME created before August 1st and domiciled in Africa
- Applicants are the bearer of an innovative project, with an advanced stage of development, that uses or produces electricity in the fields of off-grid production, electrical uses and services or access to water
