Awards
There are two award categories: the EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK Awards – for towns and cities – and the newly launched MOBILITYACTION award, which is open to organisations and will be accepting applications for the first time in 2022. Through these awards, the European Commission seeks to recognise local authorities and organisations who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of sustainable urban mobility awareness-raising and sustainable urban mobility management.
- EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK Award
- The EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK Award celebrates local authorities who have excelled in raising awareness about sustainable urban mobility during the main event week, from 16-22 September. The award is directly related to local authorities’ active participation in the campaign, which includes
- Organising activities focused on sustainable mobility from 16-22 September,
- Implementing one or more permanent transport measures and,
- Holding a ‘Car-Free Day’.
- MOBILITYACTION Award
- In 2022, the European Commission is excited to introduce the MOBILITYACTION Award.
- The award aims to place a spotlight on the campaign’s MOBILITYACTIONs, which are open to any NGOs, businesses, civil society organisations, citizen initiatives, schools or local administrations that are promoting sustainable mobility throughout the year.
- In particular, the MOBILITYACTION award rewards participants that demonstrate excellence in Mobility Management, including mobility plans, as well as measures and strategies which have a notable impact on sustainable mobility.
