Tulipán Foundation is seeking applications for the Artistic Ambassador Award to help nonprofit organizations to bring the talents of Hungarian and Hungarian American artists to broader audiences in the United States.
Funding Information
- Grants typically range from $1,000 to $10,000, depending on the project’s scope and needs. Smaller grants may be allocated to one-day events, while larger grants may support multi-part exhibitions or performances.
Eligible Expenses
- Funds will be disbursed to the Producing Organization, which will manage the grant and ensure that all expenses align with the charitable mission of the organization. Funding may be used for the following expenses:
- Transportation: Domestic or international travel for artists or cultural creatives.
- Housing and Lodging: Accommodations for the artist during the production or exhibition period. Logistics & Event Production: Venue rentals, equipment, materials, technical support, etc.
- Marketing & Outreach: Advertising, publicity, and audience engagement strategies to promote the project.
- Other Related Expenses: Activities critical to the success of the project, such as research, curating, or event coordination.
Eligibility Criteria
- To be eligible for the Tulipán Artistic Ambassador Award, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Hungarian & Hungarian-American Artists: This program is open to individual artists, collectives, or cultural creatives of Hungarian descent, as well as those whose work has a significant impact on the Hungarian American cultural community. Artists may be based either in the U.S. or Hungary, provided they collaborate with a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization based in the United States.
- Collaborate with a U.S.-Based Producing Organization: All applicants must partner with a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, referred to as the “Producing Organization,” which will apply for the grant on behalf of the artist. The Producing Organization must have the capacity to execute public-facing programs that highlight Hungarian culture and the artistic or cultural project at hand. Please note, The Producing Organization must be a registered U.S.-based 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization located in the New York Metropolitan area. Please note, the Producing Organization will act as the of icial applicant, as they will ultimately manage the logistics, production, and finances of the project.
- Visa & Legal Status: Tulipán is not responsible for sponsoring or arranging any visas required for participation in the project. Applicants and Producing Organizations are responsible for securing all necessary visas and legal documentation on their own, prior to receiving grant funding. Proof of visa or legal status must be submitted before funds can be disbursed, if applicable.
