Entries are now open for the 2021 South Europe Startup Awards to recognize, celebrate and connect the Southern European startup ecosystem.
South Europe Startup Awards is part of the Global Startup Awards which is the biggest independent startup ecosystem competition with the mission to find, recognise and connect the future-shapers of the digital age from all around the globe.
South Europe Startup Award (SESA) is the new region in the GSA network launched in 2019 and hosting a startup contest covering the entire Southern Europe countries. SESA is brought for the first time ever in Europe by X23 – The Innovation Bakery and EXOO23|Radical™ high growth program. X23 is an independent multidisciplinary, self-sustaining research center founded in 1999, committed to innovation, research, growth, and scale-up.
SESA aim is to become the one-stop-shop event for each of the participating countries’ startup ecosystems with the aim to inspire, stimulate and recognize the entrepreneurial spirit, disruptive innovation capacity, ecosystem cohesion and collaboration for the benefit of each country economic growth. The purpose is to connect the ecosystem players and to enthusiastically engage them to support startups international exposure, their capacity to boost their growth and to expand to international markets.
Categories
- Startup of the Year: A startup that inspires the next generation of founders while positively impacting the economy and the world in general. It is a product and/or service which is already a success on the market, disrupting its industry with an innovative approach.
- Best Newcomer: A startup up to 2 years of age with the potential to become Startup of the Year in the future. Its product and/or service is already on the market on a path to disrupt its industry and positively impact the economy and the world.
- Founder of the Year: A startup founder or co-founder who has shown strong leadership skills and achieved exceptional business results while being an inspiration to their team and a role model for the next generation of founders.
- Ecosystem Hero of the Year: An individual known by its passion for entrepreneurship and ability as well as willingness to help startups and entrepreneurship grow.
- VC of the Year: A VC who has created impressive financial results while investing bravely in innovative companies which can positively impact the economy as well as the world, supporting them also with resources other than just financial.
- Best Co-working Space: A co-working space that deserves the recognition for its services, support, and resources to fast-growth startups, and for creating a culture and environment that fosters innovation and focuses on positively impacting the world.
- Best Accelerator/Incubator Program: A fixed-term, cohort-based, mentorship-driven program that helps and empowers entrepreneurs to foster the growth of their innovative companies by providing tools, resources, connections, knowledge and expertise.
