Deadline: 14-Apr-22
The Company of Entrepreneurs Trust, in conjunction with the Company of Entrepreneurs, have launched an exciting new charitable initiative – the Entrepreneurs Award for Social Innovation (EASI).
Entrepreneurs solve problems and adapt to challenges. In the face of adversity there are few who are better-equipped than entrepreneurs – entrepreneurs make the best of what the world needs now.
The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted many serious social and environmental issues, such as mental illness, homelessness, loneliness, and the importance of nature to people’s wellbeing. The development and implementation of vaccines clearly demonstrated how innovaion, with collaboration, can qickly achieve what previously was thought impossible.
What makes it EASI?
- The essence of EASI is to support early-stage, purpose-led businesses developing innovative social, or environmental products or services for the benefit of a community, or wider society.
- The Trust believes that it is truly time to harness their entrepreneurial spirit and direct it towards common wealth – benefitting the majority, rather than the few.
- The Company of Entrepreneurs and The Company of Entrepreneurs Trust are perfectly placed to meaningfully support social innovation through their collective time, talents, and wealth.
- Together, they invite early-stage UK businesses to apply for a grant of £10,000 and a significant package of support. To qualify, a business must design and implement (or be ready to implement) innovative solutions to a social or environmental issue that affects the welfare and wellbeing of individuals and communities.
- Each year, one such business will be selected to receive the EASI award following a pitching competition.
