Why Apply?
- Product Design: Access to IDEO designers who will help with product builds and pilots
- Network Building: Connections to key strategic ecosystem partners through IDEO & the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation
- Grant Capital: $50k USD grant to go towards a specific activity, such as a new product, feature, or pilot. (Note: funds can’t be used for general operating expenses.)
Eligibility Criteria
- They’re looking for startups in Africa and South Asia who are innovating around Cash-In/Cash-Out challenges. You might be building solutions that:
- Extend Cash-In/Cash-Out access points into rural areas (or create new mobile money & banking agent network models altogether)
- Increase mobile money agent and merchant profitability
- Onboard new internet users to digital financial products
- Particular consideration will be given to startups addressing the financial needs of low income, rural women.
- The Program is open to legally registered and organized entities, including organizations, NGOs, partnerships, non-profit corporations, and companies that agree to be, and can be legally bound.
- Any Applicant (either corporately or individual persons) that is found to be associated with terrorist activity, political violence, criminal activity or organizations, bribery of government officials, corruption, fraud, child exploitation, or conflict minerals shall not be eligible to apply to, or participate in, the Program.
