The Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland (MFA) is seeking Proposals from International Non-Governmental Organisations (INGOs) concerning humanitarian demining for the period 2016-2020 in order to support the development of local communities through partnerships, employment, the promotion of gender equality and a human rights based approach.
Goals
- Achieve the goals of Finland’s development policy
- Achieve Finland’s country- and organisation-specific objectives
- Strengthen civil societies and democracies in developing countries and to pay due regard to the citizens opinions and needs in the national and international decision-making
Funding Information
- Afghanistan: The maximum total amount to be allocated to this priority area is 2 500 000 euro for the period 2016–2020.
- The grant is subject to annual parliamentary approval by the parliament of Finland.
- Funding will be available to maximum 2 project proposals with contract duration of 1–5 years.
- Iraq and Syria: The maximum total amount to be allocated to this priority area is 3 000 000 euro for the period 2016–2020.
- The grant is subject to annual parliamentary approval by the parliament of Finland.
- Funding will be available to maximum 2 proposals with contract duration of 1–5 years.
- Somalia: The maximum total amount to be allocated to this priority area is 1 000 000 euro for the period 2016–2020.
- The grant is subject to annual parliamentary approval by the parliament of Finland.
- Funding will be available to maximum 2 proposals with contract duration of 1–5 years.
- Ukraine: The maximum total amount to be allocated to this priority area is 1 000 000 euro for the period 2016–2020.
- The grant is subject to annual parliamentary approval by the parliament of Finland.
- Financing will be available to maximum 2 proposals with contract duration of 1–5 years.
Eligibility Criteria
- The Ministry for Foreign Affairs considers INGOs to be non-profit organisations that operate politically and administratively independent of governments.
- The INGO has to have:
- at least three different nationalities represented in its governing structures
- operations in more than two countries
- been registered and/or legally competent for at least two years
- funding from at least one other source
