Applications are now open for the ANZ & Sydney Mardi Gras Community Grants in 2018, designed to support and develop LGBTQI community projects in Australia. This grant primarily aims to raise the visibility of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and intersex communities.
The judges will assess the merits of each application in their discretion and will ultimately determine any successful applications, in whole or in part. Winners will be announced by publication on Monday 16th July 2018 once they have been contacted. Winning entrants may also be promoted on ANZ and Mardi Gras social media channels.
Each winning Eligible Entrant will be required to complete the initiative that the grant will be used for within 12 months of receiving the money unless otherwise agreed to by the Promoters.
Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras (SGLMG) is the non-for-profit member-based organisation which primarily develop the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras for the benefit of Sydney’s LGBTQI community, the enjoyment of a wider audience and as a global beacon of diversity, acceptance and LGBTQI rights.
Areas of Support
- Funding will be broadly given to projects in the following categories:
- Education and training
- Creation, arts and culture
- Community development (including sporting groups)
- Independent category submissions
- Grants will not Support:
- Commercial business activity
- Government organizations
- Administration expenses
- Mardi Gras Parade Float creation
Funding Information
- Grants of up to $10,000 are available to LGBTQI not-for-profit community organisations, charities and individuals
Eligibility Criteria
- Australian residents, not for profit organisations, community groups and individuals whose project is of benefit to one or all of the LGBTQI communities.
- Individuals that are employed by the Promoters are not eligible to be awarded a grant.
