The Department of Youth Development, Ministry of Youth and Sports Malaysia and the Youth Trust Foundation are seeking applications for “ASEAN+3 Youth Social Business Summit 2018” with an aim to provide a platform for Malaysian youths and youths in the ASEAN region to partake in these conversations alongside business practitioners, academicians and industry leaders from both the public and private sectors, and to emphasize how Social Business can play a significant role in building a more equitable and sustainable marketplace within the ASEAN context.
The event will gather youth delegates, experts from the private sectors, civil society, governments, academia and social entrepreneurs From Malaysia, ASEAN member countries, Japan, Korea and China for Two (2) days of panel discussions, and collaboration between existing practitioners and stakeholders.
The Philippines will be sending four (4) participants for this event.
Benefits
- Delegates will shoulder international airfare, travel expenses from their residence to NYC, as well as their accommodation in Manila for the pre-departure briefing.
- The organizer will shoulder the delegates’ meals, accommodation, and local transportation in Malaysia.
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be 18-35 years old
- Must have good command of English
- Must be involved in social entrepreneurship, social initiatives or projects
- Strongly interested in becoming an entrepreneur
- Must have valid Philippine passport (valid until 18 April 2019)
- No severe health issues
The following are automatically disqualified:
- Participants of NYC-coordinated international programs from 18 October , 2013 until the present whose airfare, accommodation, and meals were paid for by the organizer; and
- Participants of NYC-coordinated international programs from 18 October, 2016 until the present whose airfare was shouldered by the participants and whose accommodation and meals were paid for by the organizer.
- NYC International Programs Beneficiaries who have not completed their volunteer work hours.
- Previous NYC International Programs Beneficiaries who have not submitted or accomplished the required post-program documents or volunteer work.
