The Global Potential (GP) is accepting applications for its Youth Ambassador Program in order to build relationships and create networks among the 15 young Haitian leaders age 15 to 18 years, forming the youth in concept and practice of social entrepreneurship; introducing young leaders of nonprofit organizations and agents of change in the United States; and learn about families in the United States, culture, geography, and socio-economic reality.
Aims
- Promote positive change among youth and communities.
- Prepare youth to become responsible citizens in their communities, countries and the world.
- Increasing capacity genes of time management, public speaking, work in teams, and critical thinking.
- Build relationships among youth and create networks between young leaders.
- Train young concept and practice of social entrepreneurship.
- Introducing youth and leaders of non-profit organization and change agents in the United States.
- Learn about the culture, geography and socio-economic realities of American families.
Program Phases
15 participants selected will participate in three phase program:
- First Phase: monthly workshops based on a 4-module curriculum in community service, leadership development, civic education and participatory democracy.
- Second Phase: 3-week experience in the United States, visiting New York and Washington DC.;
- Third Phase: Receive support individual and group support and coaching during 7 months to develop projects that will impact on local communities, based on their passion and ability.
Requirements
Applicants must be a commitment to all activities, including:
- Training & Orientation
- Work sessions per month, with weekly phone calls
- Share in return and their home communities.
- Development and implementation of a Community Action Project.
