Applications are open for 2016 Ericsson Sub-Saharan Africa Innovation Awards to encourage young innovators and start-ups to use this opportunity to make a real difference by using technology and ICT to make a positive contribution towards sustainability in the food sector in sub-Saharan Africa.
The goal is to find innovations that promote sustainability in the future of food, whether it be in food production, packaging, information availability or distribution – the program want to see applicant’s innovation and how it will change the future of the food industry as they know it!
The Innovation Awards recognizes thought leaders who create innovative technological solutions to empower communities and individuals, while working towards the goal of a fully networked society.
The theme of the Ericsson sub-Saharan Africa Innovation Awards 2016 is “The Future of Food”.
Prize
Applicants can win the grand prize of $10 000.
Eligibility Criteria
- The RSSA Innovation Awards are open to students at tertiary institutions and to any start-ups or small and medium enterprises. Entrants must be of legal majority age in their country.
- To be eligible to be part of a team participating in the student category – such person (“student”) shall (i) be a student of higher vocational and academic studies; (ii) register themselves for the contest by completing and submitting a team application form given on the website; and (iii) be part of a team consisting of 2-4 students.
