The US Embassy in Baghdad is inviting young leaders for its “Cultural Exchange Program”. This program offers talented students who have demonstrated leadership skills and a sense of the principle of civic participation, the opportunity to participate in a fully-funded program for a period of four weeks during the summer.
The program will provide Musharraf’s activities and educational workshops to twenty males that will expand their knowledge of civic participation and communication between diverse cultures, and through the various components of the program in Vermont.
Benefits
The program takes care of expenses related to international trips to and from the United States, meetings, visa expenses and the administration to apply for the visa process, field visits and meetings of the lesson, room and board, some cultural activities, educational materials, health disease and accident insurance, a reasonable amount of pocket money. The participants will stay with host families volunteered to receive the participants, as well as in the dorms of the Mrakzalalmah.
Eligibility Criteria
The applicant should:
- Be proficient in speaking, writing, and listening in Arabic
- Be at least 15 years old, but not more than 17 years
- Have completed at least one year in middle school before the start of the program in July 2017, and has had at least one full academic year at the middle school after the program ends.
- Be graduated from middle school in the year 2018 or later
- Have the consent of one’s parents or guardians to travel to the United States of America
- Hold Iraqi citizenship and be a resident in Iraq (applicants dual US citizenship holders will not be considered eligible to participate)
- Hold an Iraqi passport from type A or G force up to March 2018
