ARTivism Contest: Your Art can Change the World

If you’re a creative young artist (amateur, aspiring, professional) with a passion for human rights, then this challenge is for you! Create and submit a piece of your artwork to Amnesty´s ARTivism Contest.

Applicants can participate with any form of audiovisual work from illustration, lettering, paint or spoken word, rap, applicants name it! Their inspiration should come from one of 10 youth cases and the human rights issues that they currently face.

Amnesty International is a global movement of more than 7 million people who take injustice as personal. It work for a world in which all people can enjoy their human rights.

Prizes

A spot on one of their human rights bus tours in South America
Wacom tablets/Adobe Licences/DSLR cameras, the development of merchandise such as prints, posters, stickers, T-shirts
Features in ART Galleries and museums in December to mark Human Rights Day!

Eligibility Criteria

This competition will have 2 age categories: 12-18 and 19-29.
Applicants must be between 12 and 29 years old to participate in this contest.
Applicants must be based in a country on the continent of America (this includes both North, Central, and South America and the Caribbean).
If applicants are under the age of 18, they must have a parent’s or tutor’s consent to submit their artwork.
A selection panel consisting of Amnesty’s Team, activists, and local and international artists will choose six winners (three for each age category).
The winners will be notified via email.
By submitting artwork to this contest, applicants are authorizing Amnesty International to feature their piece of artwork worldwide, indefinitely, and without additional royalty payments in various ways including but not limited to:
- On contest website;
- On contest social media accounts;
- Merchandise such as prints, posters, stickers, T-shirts, or any other products used for fundraising purposes and to support right-holders from the W4Rs cases.
Amnesty is not responsible for any tax liabilities which may be payable by the recipient in the various different jurisdictions. Recipients will be responsible for complying with their own local tax law.
