Deadline: 19-Oct-2025
The ASEAN Foundation has launched its ASEAN Youth Creators for Impact Programme to empower 11 content creators from 10 ASEAN countries and Timor-Leste to lead campaigns on key social equality themes, including women’s empowerment, education rights, mental health, digital inclusion, media literacy, and peacebuilding.
Selected creators will design and implement an eight-week social campaign infused with ASEAN awareness, producing at least eight pieces of original content on their preferred social media platforms. By amplifying their voices, the initiative seeks to spark conversations that resonate widely, inspire greater ownership of these causes, and create a snowball effect for lasting change.
Participants are expected to design a social campaign plan that highlights the programme’s core themes while weaving ASEAN awareness throughout the narrative. They must produce at least eight engaging and inspiring social media posts over the eight-week period, ensuring that the content emphasises positive and encouraging aspects of the themes without indicating support for or against any political situation or political party.
Collaboration with fellow creators and ASEAN Foundation staff is encouraged, and selected winners should be prepared to travel to Jakarta, Indonesia, for the awarding ceremony, with flights fully funded for participants from the ten ASEAN countries and Timor-Leste.
Eligibility criteria include being a citizen of one of the ten ASEAN Member States or Timor-Leste, aged 18–35 at the start of the programme, and being an active social media user with an interest in content creation and storytelling on the specified themes. As part of the application, participants must create and post a video (maximum 60 seconds) or an infographic on one social equality topic to their most active public social media account, tagging @aseanfoundation and @canadaasean and using the hashtags #ASEANYImpact #ASEANEquality and #WeAreASEAN. Passion, creativity, and commitment beyond the minimum requirements will increase the chances of being selected among the top three creators.
Selected creators will gain access to expert-led online training covering the programme’s core themes and ASEAN awareness, receive a USD 150 deliverable fee, and have the chance to attend the on-site event and awarding ceremony in Jakarta. The top three youth creators will be recognised as Ambassadors of the Day, visiting the Mission of Canada to ASEAN for direct engagement with diplomats and experts. All selected creators will also receive official e-certificates upon completion.
At the end of the campaign, creators will submit a final content report, including performance metrics and administrative documents, which is required to receive the deliverable fee. They will also contribute to the development of a social media toolkit to promote social equality across ASEAN and actively participate in online onboarding and training sessions.
Interested applicants must submit a professional headshot, a scan of a valid identification card, links to active social media profiles, an updated CV in English or a LinkedIn profile, and the link to their social media content challenge before 19 October 2025, 23:59 (GMT +7).
