The focus areas include education, with specialization in education in emergencies and school meals; food security, including food assistance, food assistance for assets, and food security and market analysis/vulnerability analysis and mapping (VAM); and nutrition, covering infant and young child feeding, malnutrition prevention and treatment, and nutrition in emergencies.
The project aims to respond to the needs of millions of beneficiaries by promoting protection, gender equity, and active participation of women. Partner organizations will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on WFP interventions, particularly in areas where access for WFP and United Nations personnel is limited or unavailable due to security challenges. Selected field staff will work exclusively on WFP activities, producing regular reports on intervention results and supporting additional tasks to strengthen regional office efforts.
While some areas have seen improvements with populations gradually returning, humanitarian access remains restricted in several regions, necessitating precise and adaptable monitoring to ensure the effectiveness and impact of humanitarian, development, and peace initiatives. The locations of focus include Est, Cascades Region, and High-Basins Region.
