The Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) is seeking Letters of Inquiry for its Cerrado Biodiversity Hotspot Small and Large Grants Program.
The CEPF is a joint initiative of l’Agence Française de Développement, Conservation International, the European Union, the Global Environment Facility, the Government of Japan, and the World Bank.
Investment Priorities
- Support studies and analyses necessary to justify the creation and expansion of public protected areas, while promoting conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity and valuing local and traditional culture.
- Promote the inclusion of existing indigenous, quilombola and other traditional populations, respecting and integrating their traditional knowledge into conservation/restoration planning by government and civil society.
- Develop and strengthen technical and management skills of civil society organizations, on environment, conservation strategy, and planning, policy advocacy, fundraising, compliance with regulations and other topics relevant to investment priorities.

- Small Grants (up to US$50,000)
- Large Grants (over US$50,000 with a maximum of US$200,000) –
Eligibility Criteria
- Nongovernmental organizations, community groups, private enterprises, research institutes and foundations and other candidates of the civil society can apply to receive funds from CEPF.
- Government agencies, institutions or entities are eligible only if they can establish the following:
- They have a legal personality independent of any government agency or actor;
- they have a mandate to apply and receive private funds;
- they cannot rely on their right of sovereign immunity

Interested applicants can submit their letters of inquiry (LOIs) in Portuguese or English via given website.
