The Nature Canada Photo Contest is accepting photo entries which capture the beauty of Canadian nature all around us. The contest is a celebration of the plants and animals, landscapes, and nature moments that bring us joy and happiness. Sponsored by Nature Canada, it hopes to encourage more Canadians to get outdoors and to connect with nature across the summer months.
Themes
There are variety of themes into which applicants can submit their photo(s):
- Canadian Landscape – see breathtaking country coast to coast
- People in Nature – how are applicants connecting with nature
- Nature Nearby – explore nature in backyard
- Nature in Action – soaring, crawling, hiking, flying, climbing
- Fauna & Flora – discover the wonder in Canadian wildlife
Format of Photographs for Submission
- Web Version Entries
- Web Version Entries can be submitted electronically through the website of the contest or by the email given on the website. Submissions made by email must include the entrants full name, self-identification (Amateur, Professional, or Youth), the category into which applicants wish to enter their photo, and a description of applicants photo to be eligible.
- Entries can be submitted electronically on the Photo Contest Facebook event page and on Twitter.
- Content alteration of digital files is not acceptable; cropping of photos is permitted, tonal or colour corrections are acceptable, including black and white conversion.
- Winning entrants must be able to provide a high-resolution version of each photo that they submit.
- Print Version Entries
- Print Version Entries are also accepted by mail, in print format on the given address.
- Applicants must include their name, contact information, self-identification (Amateur, Professional, or Youth), the category into which they wish to enter their photo, and a description of their photo.
Eligibility Criteria
- To be eligible to enter the Contest or win a prize, applicants must be a permanent resident of Canada and not an employee of, a member of the immediate family of, or domiciled with an employee of Nature Canada.
- No purchase is necessary to enter the Contest or to win a prize.
- All photographs entered in the Contest must be of Canadian content (i.e. taken in Canada).
- Participation in the Contest constitutes Entrants’ full and unconditional agreement to abide by these Contest Rules and Regulations and the Contest Sponsor’s decisions, which are final and binding in all matters related to the Contest.
