Deadline: 10-Oct-2025
Applications are now open for the Volunteer Ireland Awards, a major annual initiative to celebrate volunteers in Ireland.
Categories: Arts, Culture and Festivals, Campaigning and Activism, Children and Youth, Environmental and Animal Care, Health and Wellbeing, Safety and Emergency Services, Social Inclusion and Community Support, and Sports and Recreation.
Anyone can nominate and be nominated for a Volunteer Ireland Award. Individuals, duos, groups, and volunteer managers are all eligible. Nominations can be made for an individual volunteer or a volunteer duo in any of the eight categories, while groups can be nominated for their collective achievements, with separate categories for small groups (3–20 volunteers) and large groups (20+ volunteers). Additionally, volunteer managers—those who lead and manage volunteer programmes—can also be recognised, whether they work in paid or unpaid roles.
Every volunteer nominated for an award will receive a thank-you card from Volunteer Ireland, acknowledging their valuable contributions and the appreciation of those who took the time to nominate them. This gesture ensures that every nominee feels recognised and valued for their efforts in making a positive impact on Irish society.
Awardees’ stories will be shared across social media channels and with both local and national press, celebrating their dedication while also encouraging others to get involved in volunteer work. By sharing these inspiring stories, Volunteer Ireland not only honours volunteers but also strengthens the culture of community involvement across the country.
The deadline for applications is 10 October 2025.
