The Google.org Impact Challenge searches for and supports the next generation of Australians whose innovative ideas for change are making an impact locally and globally.
This year, the Google.org Impact Challenge will award $5.5M to nonprofit innovators and social entrepreneurs using technology to tackle their biggest social challenges.
Award Information
- Each of the four Winners will receive AU$1,000,000 in grant funding, and the opportunity to receive limited mentorship and support from Google and/or its subsidiaries, its affiliates or partners.
- The next six (6) Finalists who were not GIC Award Winners will each receive AU$250,000 in grant funding, and the opportunity to receive limited mentorship and support from Google and/or its subsidiaries, affiliates or partners (“GIC Award(s)”).
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible to enter the Challenge, an Organisation must:
- be EITHER:
- a charity or not-for-profit currently registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission;
- be a duly registered business in Australia that is seeking grant funding and is substantially oriented toward extending value toward the public.
- suggest a project with a clear charitable or related purpose, as determined by Google and/or Google’s donor advised fund, the Tides Foundation;
- not be an entity under U.S. or Australian export controls or sanctions.
- have a registered office in Australia;
- not discriminate on any unlawful basis in either hiring/employment practices or in the administration of programmes and services;
- not discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity in hiring/employment practices;
- agree that if it receives an Award, the Award will not be used for religious instruction.
