The National Association of Conservation Districts (NACD) is seeking nominations for Friend of Conservation Award that recognizes an individual, business, organization, or agency outside the association for outstanding contributions to the conservation of United States natural resources.
Award Information
The recipient will be honored at the NACD Annual Meeting in Nashville, TN this coming January. They will receive on single day complimentary registration to the meeting, one complimentary ticket to the Appreciation Banquet, and a plaque. They will also be recognized in the NACD publications and on the website. All nominees will receive certificates of Honorable Mention from the NACD president.
Eligibility Criteria
Any individual, business, organization or agency that is not directly associated with conservation districts at the local, state, or national level is eligible to receive this award. Nominations are accepted from any individual, organization, agency, or conservation district.
Nomination Requirements
Nominations should consist of a brief description (500 words or less) of the nominee’s efforts to demonstrate the following:
- Outstanding contributions to better public understanding of natural resource conservation and the goals of conservation districts;
- The planning and carrying out of impressive land, water and related resource management practices in cooperation with a local conservation district;
- Providing outstanding financial, personal or other assistance to a district, state or national conservation program; or
- Exceptional service in furthering the cause of conservation districts, strengthening the conservation partnership and assisting the programs of NACD.
- Nomination must also include a summary of the description suitable to use in promotion of applicant’s entry.
