The International Inequalities Institute is seeking nominations for its Action for Equity Award, which is an exciting new prize from the Atlantic Fellows programme at the III which aims to recognize and reward the crucial work being advanced by civic organisations to combat inequalities around the world.
The award will extend the reach and impact of the Atlantic Fellows programme for Social and Economic Equity, which supports dynamic emerging leaders from academia and the third sector, campaign or policy-making organisations to explore the causes of inequalities.
Award Information
The prize will celebrate the excellent work which has been achieved by smaller teams and will provide GBP 50,000 toward the winning organisation’s ongoing activities. Moreover, award winners will contribute to the Atlantic Fellows programme at LSE.
Eligibility Criteria
In 2017, the inaugural award will be given to an organisation based in the United Kingdom, with future awards targeting other regions of the world.
Organisations that can be nominated for the 2017 prize must be:
- Based in the UK
- Have an annual income/turnover between GBP 100,000 and GBP 1,000,000
- Have between 3 and 20 members of FTE staff.
Nomination Process
- Candidates should first be nominated. The Atlantic Fellows programme will be inviting nominations from well recognised third sector organisations, think tanks and campaign bodies.
- Nominate an organisation or campaign team
- All nominated parties will then be invited to submit a detailed application.
- Applications will be assessed by an independent jury, comprised of distinguished individuals with a track record of service in the field. The award will be announced at the III Annual Conference in June 2017.
