Deadline: 25-Sep-2025
The Creative New Zealand is accepting applications for its Creative Impact Fund to support artists and practitioners for creating, sharing, and presenting work that enriches audiences and communities as well as encourages understanding and participation.
The fund can support activities for up to 18 months. The Creative Impact Fund supports artists and practitioners to deliver arts activities that enrich audiences and communities, deepen people’s understanding and participation in the arts, and encourages the sharing of knowledge and skills.
The fund is open to New Zealand citizens or permanent residents who can apply as an individual or a group of collaborators. The amount you can apply for is up to $125,000, although most grants will be less than $100,000. If you apply for more than $50,000, you must show in your budget that you have revenue from other sources, such as earned income, other grants, sponsorship, or in-kind support. In a 12-month period, you can receive a maximum of $125,000 across both the Creative Fellowship Fund and the Creative Impact Fund. The funding can be used for the creation and presentation of artwork through exhibitions or performances, the distribution of artwork by publishing books, catalogues, resources, or recordings, engaging with audiences or raising awareness through research and advocacy, and sharing knowledge and skills through workshops, wānanga, fono, or talanoa.
People who identify as Deaf or disabled, or experience a disability or an impairment, can claim an additional payment on top of their grant to help cover accessibility costs during the period of the grant. Applications are assessed by different people depending on the funding pool. The General arts funding pool is assessed by an artform-based panel of peer assessors and Creative New Zealand staff.
Applicants can add extra documents and information to their application to help show they are eligible, support their answers, and help assessors understand their practice and the activities they want to be funded. It is important to only include information that is recent and relevant. Information can be added by attaching files or including weblinks. Attached files must be under 10MB each and in the following formats: .pdf, .doc or .docx (Word), .xls or .xlsx (Excel), .png, .jpg, .jpeg (images), .txt, .mp3 or .m4a (audio). Google Docs, Google Drive, Drop-box, or WeTransfer documents are not accepted. Audio, video, and other file formats can be accepted via a web-link, provided the content can be viewed or played online without needing further navigation, logins, or downloading.
