Deadline: 21-May-2026
The Villum Fonden is now accepting applications for its European Vocational Education and Training Initiative to enable young people in Europe to become frontrunners in the digital and green transitions.
High-quality teaching, modern facilities, and inclusive learning environments lie at the heart of this effort, particularly in sectors driving the green and digital transitions.
The green transition refers to preparing students for careers that contribute to environmental sustainability and the reduction of ecological impact. This includes training in industries committed to renewable energy, sustainable production, waste reduction, and climate resilience. On the other hand, the digital transition focuses on building students’ digital literacy, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, ensuring they are ready for a fast-changing technological landscape.
To support this, the programme funds a wide range of activities. These include the development of new educational initiatives, teacher training, inclusive study environments that embrace diversity, and investment in cutting-edge equipment and infrastructure. The goal is to provide students with hands-on, real-world learning experiences in high-tech and future-ready environments. Full budget of the call EUR 12 million.
Eligible applicants include schools, educational institutions, civil society organisations, public authorities, and local innovators. Individual applicants are not eligible, and all communication and documentation must be in English, ensuring clear and effective dialogue throughout the project lifecycle.
The programme prioritises projects that are developmental, innovative, and long-term. Rather than short-term fixes, it seeks initiatives that demonstrate the potential for lasting, systemic change. Collaborative partnerships are encouraged, especially where they bring in complementary expertise or resources that strengthen the project’s reach and impact.
Funding is flexible and comprehensive, allowing for a wide range of eligible costs. These include not only operational expenses, but also renovation and construction work where necessary for project success. Specialist fees—for legal, technical, or strategic support—can also be covered if relevant to the project goals.
Overall, the programme presents a powerful opportunity for institutions and organisations to lead transformative change in education. By aligning vocational training with the priorities of the green and digital transitions, it empowers Europe’s youth to step confidently into the future—prepared, skilled, and ready to lead.
