This prestigious Award offers a unique opportunity for young Australians in agribusiness to develop their skills, expand their networks, and gain invaluable experience through a tailored mentoring program. Finalists gain unparalleled access to top industry mentors from Australia and New Zealand, professional media training, and an all-expenses-paid trip to the Young Achievers Muster and Impact Summit. They also become part of the Zanda McDonald Award alumni, receiving ongoing access to events, activities, and personal development opportunities.
The winner will receive a personalised mentoring trip across Australia and New Zealand, a one-year position as a judge of the Award, and up to $10,000 towards a professional development course or further education, tailored to their career goals. The mentoring and educational experiences are designed to foster both personal and professional growth, providing opportunities that extend beyond conventional learning.
Applicants must be between 21 and 35 years old and actively working in the agricultural sector. It is essential that applicants do not have personal connections to individuals involved in the Award scheme. Applicants must display a passion for improving their industry and be prepared to serve as ambassadors for the Award, representing it at events, field days, or industry conferences.
Key dates for the 2025 Award include the application deadline on 31 October 2025, with the shortlist of five candidates from Australia announced on 20 November 2025. In-person interviews will be held on 1 and 2 December 2025, with three finalists announced on 3 December 2025. The Award winners will be revealed at the Zanda McDonald Award Impact Summit and Celebration Dinner in Christchurch, New Zealand, on 10 and 11 March 2026.
